The 1979 Series - It all started with a barstool. In 1979, Kenneth and Annie Kauffman started making bar stools on their small family farm. And from those humble beginnings, Simply Amish was born. Today we offer more than 4000 types of furniture, supplied by more than 50 Amish shops scattered throughout the American heartland. But we haven’t forgotten our roots. This year we are proud to include the original 1979 Series barstool in our catalog, hand-crafted by son George Kauffman—the latest generation of Kauffmans to build on the family tradition.
